Hidden Voices (HIVO) is an initiative that was born over 6 years ago as a result of the plight of people in Uganda over protracted civil wars, Karamojong raids in the North Eastern Uganda, HIV/AIDS for decades that have destroyed totally the livelihoods of the local population. HIVO is fully registered by the Government of Uganda RegNo: IND161625613NB and NGO Board RegNo:INDP0006513NB. Its dedicated to support the vulnerable people to live sustainably by empowering them with knowledge and life skills through activities that are designed to improve their livelihoods in all aspects of development.

At Hidden Voices, our efforts are concentrated on specific thematic areas that address the most pressing needs of the communities we serve. Through targeted initiatives, we aim to create sustainable change and empower individuals to lead better lives. Our core focus areas include
Our education initiatives aim to increase school enrollment and enhance learning through free education and the provision of essential scholastic materials.
We promote sustainable agricultural practices and nutrition programs to ensure food security and improve the livelihoods of vulnerable communities.
Our environmental efforts focus on climate change mitigation and the protection of natural resources to foster a healthier planet.
We provide primary health care services and health education to improve community health and well-being.
Our WASH programs ensure access to clean water, improved sanitation facilities, and hygiene education to prevent disease and promote health.
We facilitate conflict resolution and peace-building activities to foster harmonious and resilient communities.
Our gender programs address gender-based violence, promote gender equality, and empower women and girls to lead fulfilling lives.
We advocate for policy changes, lobby for resources, and promote good governance to enhance community development and participation.
It should be noted that, once communities lack Education, the people can’t excel to their maximum potential resulting into high child marriages, Child abuse, domestic violence, unemployment, drug abuse among other aspects affecting development globally. According to 2017 UBOS report 1/3 girls aged 12-18 in Teso Region and other parts of the country have ever been in marriage making the number of teenage mothers alarmingly high and yet there are no specific programs to develop capacities of such girls (teenage mothers) to help them realize their potential.
